Where Caught: Unknown. Main residence-Shuswap Lake, BC. Zepplin travelled to Alberta, Saskatchewan and Yucatan, Mexico before his illness.

Symptoms: Coughing in November 2010
Limping February 2011 in Mx. Abscess found on his rear leg - surgery done. Suture site would not heal.
Not eating
Lethargic
Weight loss
High Temperature
Blood work/x-rays normal
Difficulty breathing
Eventual brain/eye swelling causing blindness
Grossly enlarged lymph nodes
Non-healling foot lesion
Non-healing abscess suture site


Treatment: Nov 2010 - April 2011 - Many antibiotics/x-rays/blood work- no results
April 2011- enlarged lymph nodes and blindness - prednisone and amphotericine. 2 rounds of IV amphotericine- 5 treatments each.
May/June - Itraconozole tablets

Multiple lymphatic tissue samples sent to Pathologists in BC, Ont and Pennsylvania - fungas finally found but not blasto.

Cost of Treatment: > $7,000 Canadian and counting.....

Additional Comments: Zepplin was only 8 month old when he started to cough in November and its been a rough 6 months. Although no confirmed diagnosis, all symptoms point to Blasto. He is almost his normal self again, although its been a long 6 months. He still has good days and bad days - thankfully the bad days are getting fewer and fewer. He is still on Itraconozole for ??? more months.
