Where Caught: Seine River, Whiteshell or Lake of the Woods areaas. Roughly Southeastern Manitoba or the Lake of the Woods Watershed.

Symptoms: Draining track on nose and redness in eyes (Jan/2010)

Limping - no use of left rear leg (mid-Feb/2010)

Lathargy and anorexia (March/2010)

Treatment: Itroconizole for 3 months

Additional Comments: My dog's vet was unable to diagnose this and kept treating symptoms (eyes and draining tract) even though I had indicated early on in the process that blasto should always be a consideration given where we live. My mother, who's black lab died of Blasto suggested the diagnosis. Your site helped diagnose. I then went to a vet who knew the disease (this is important) and he was able to confirm the diagnosis medically (although when we walked in his first words were "I think this little girl has Blasto").
