Where Caught: Sadie is a "farm dog" that lives in the country on a grain farm. She lives with a German Shorthair and a Beagle. She frequently digs and chases anything that runs from her.

Symptoms: Her symptoms started in her left eye. Reddened and discolored, severely swollen, and drainage. Her iris is now a reddish brown color and her pupil is fixed. Approximately 5 days after the eye, she had bumps in random areas of her skin. Now she has a swollen area above her right jaw bone and has a severe loss in appetite.

Treatment: Started her on Fluconazole on 2/2/2011 same day of diagnosis.

Cost of Treatment: 40 days of Fluconazole treatment is approximately $17 from the vets office. Unsure of eye removal price.

Additional Comments: My dog was only diagnosed by taking aspirate from one of her skin lesions and looking under a scope. The previous Vet that sent her blood out for Blasto testing got a false negative and this lost valuable time for us.
