Where Caught: I cannot tell where he got it. It is winter now and I was told he probably got it in the spring or summer. He is in the back yard more than anywhere else.

Symptoms: sore leg, swollen leg, other joints and bones swollen, not eating or drinking and death.

Treatment: Was started n itraconazole 200 mg but too little too late.
Pain meds were also given
At first he was treated for lymnes and given something for that.

Cost of Treatment: 400.oo (plus or minus)

Additional Comments: Anubis was fine and fit until a week before he died. He went outside and when he came in he was limping. We found no reason for it so we had him stay off it for a few days. His leg swelled and was HUGE so we took him to the vet. She said the swelling was in all other joints and bones. Fromt the above two statements there were 4 days and many pounds lost. (It was a weekend) He was treated for lymes and tests were taken, his lungs were clear, he did not cough. He started breathing fast and hard so I took him back to the vet and she started him on meds for blasto before the results came back in. He became real weak and lost more weight. He started throwing up his food and stopped eating and drinking, I fed him small amounts of liquid puppy formula hoping he would get his strength back. I was awoke in the morning with his breathing very slow and deep as he passed into the realm of the unknown. From his leg hurting to his death was a matter of a week or less. The Vet said it went to his nervous system and he had no chance at all.
