Symptoms: Limping, lump and swelling in leg. Weight loss with an intermittent cough. Seizures and eventually lethargy, loss of appetite, and labored breathing.

Treatment: Treated with antibiotics for lump and infection. Then thyroid meds for seizures. Blasto not suspected until last week of treatment. Then treated with Itraconazole, prednizone and oxygen.

Cost of Treatment:

Additional Comments: Niners did not have conclusive test results for blasto. But her xrays and symptoms pointed in that direction. She only survived a few days of anti-fungal meds. Her reaction was very severe; coughing, labored breathing, and swelling of the lumps on her leg. The strong reaction led all 3 vets who treated her to conclude that she did have it.
