Symptoms: Aprox Three years ago bloodpressure issues feeling tired cronic cough. Lung xray showed some masses.Lung biopsy confermed sarcodosis.Monitored with pft tests tried some alternative meds still not feeling better one reduced pft and put on steroids for year. through treatment still cough up junk and fatigue. blood pressure stabilized with meds.One month after steroids were stopped started coughing up blood put in hospital for pnemonia. given antibiotics and steroids sent home felt better . Then lesions on skin started two on face one on torso one on calf and one on thumb.Pain in leg began xray showed possible bone contusion (did hit his leg on hitch of truck two wks prior)told to stay off leg given pain week after that so three wks post injury swelling over area began concerned about bone infection with all the skin lesions and depressed immune system from long term steroids.Went to hospital did ct scan showed unusual bone lesion.had bone biopsy showed puss infection and hole in bone.cultured the infection but it didnt grow anything. infectious disease doctor had run tests showing elevated antibodies for blasto. confirmed with biopsy of finger lesion and sample from bone biopsy.

Treatment: Amphotericin B given two doses so far. Pain has diminished from level 4 to 0. needs to have it two weeks. Then some oral med for possibly 8 months

Additional Comments: possible that he never really had sarcoidosis and that he had blatomycosis that he was fighting off untill the steroids supressed his immune?
