Where Caught: Do not know exact location, Buddy has never been outside of Manitoba but does enjoy digging and playing near/in water.

Symptoms: First sympton was in his right eye it appeard weapy and he was keeping it closed took him to the vets they sent us home with tear gel and said it was an irritation 2 days later it began swelling and turned white at this stage he was very lame and mostly sleeping. I took him to another vet who said it was an ulcher and treated it with antibiotics. 4 days later still no improvement took his to a different vet who diagnosed glucoma and removed his eye due to blindness. 1 week later lab results have confirmed Blasto. We were shocked at this diagnosis as buddy has reagined energy his appetite is very good and he seems to be improving daily.

Treatment: Buddy began Itraconazole (liquid form)yesterday. (Sept 9th, 2009)

Cost of Treatment: To date with vets visits, bi-opsy and medication $1000

Additional Comments: We have been told by our vet that the prognosis is not good and treatment will not likely be successful. We are trying to stay so hopefull and pray that he is able to pull through this. We are going ahead with treatment and doing all that is possible for him. He is our baby and I cannot imagine not having him around.
