We're on day 10 with Izzy. She seems to be doing well. Vet appointment Friday night went really well - stitches are out, she's up 2lbs, and her vet said he couldn't be more pleased with her progress! Yay!!!
Saturday afternoon we took her to pick up her sister Casey. We had sent her to stay with friends - she was getting pretty upset with Izzy being sick and us paying her so much attention. She had a blast on 'vacation,' and you should have seen Izzy jump out of the car to shower Casey with kisses!!! It was wonderful to see her excited again!
That said, her left leg has swelled up more than ever before. We are continuing to massage and ice it and pray it goes down. She does well with an ice pack though:

She has continued to eat pretty well and seems to have some energy. This morning she climbed up in bed for some snuggles - even the boy cat got involved. He has been so patient with her since she has been sick. She repaid the favor by using him as a pillow

We slept in this morning (it was heaven!) Until almost 11.30am. The problem is that we typically dose Izzy between 6-8am and 6-8pm. I went ahead and pilled her as soon as I woke up. My question is whether or not to get back to her normal dosing time tonight (6-8pm) or push it back a few hours going forward? I want to keep a consistent level of the medication in her system, and I'm hesitant to give her too much or end up with an adverse reaction. Were any of you ever late on a dose or have some advice on how to catch back up?
Saying special prayers for Dex as he battles on and gets used to seeing from one eye, and for Sadie as she starts into more testing. Getting poked and prodded is no fun!! So glad to hear that Bennie's swelling has gone down and that he had some pep in his step today!
To our newcomers - count your blessings that you've found this board. It's been a beacon of light for us during this dark time. For the 'old guard,' thank you, thank you, thank you. For sharing your experiences, for your guidance, and for your encouragement. It is appreciated more than you know!!!!
Hoping for strong, healthy days this week for all of our pups!!
