My thoughts and prayers still with all of you from CLS
« on: October 12, 2007, 03:44:08 PM »

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to give everyone a hi and to let you know that my thoughts and prayers are still with all of you and with all the new cases I have read today. I'm happy to hear all the positive cases and sadened to hear of a few more loses since Sadie.
We had Sadie cremated and we have her in the living room in our display cabinet with a photo of her (pretty ironic since Sadie was an outdoor dog and she slept in our garage that we heated for her on cold nights). That night when we brought her home we went outside for a little while and when we came back in the house, the whole house smelt like Sadie. It made us cry and laugh a little too, because we were so upset that she died at the vets and not at home (we felt really quilty). But after that night, we know that it was only her body that died alone that night at the vets, but her spirit didn't leave until she was brought home and she gave us a sign. :'( :) Not all of her ashes fit in the urn we purchased for her and we were going to have a little memorial for her and spread the remaining ashes in her favorite spots, but Sadie was everything to my husband (and I of course) but he still is not quite ready to do this. So when the time is right we will do so.
It's been really frustrating too because alot of family and friends want us to get another dog right NOW. They tell us that if they were a dog they would want us as their mom and dad, but my husband and I think it's because they think that it will help us forget about Sadie and help the healing process. Of course, we will get another dog, but not soon, and NEVER will we forget Sadie, she was and still is our baby-girl and she is not replaceable.
I would definately like to see the charting of signs and symptons. Sadie only had it in her lungs, but when did she catch it? Looking back she could of caught it at any time she was on doxycyclin for her lime disease, which kills all good and bad bacteria. She could of been a carrier for a long time before any signs/ symptoms started to show.
Anyhow, all my love, thoughts, prayers are with everyone right now. This site was a God send to my family and we wish everyone good luck. Happy spirits.CLS

I am so sorry to hear about your Sadie!    My Puck is a Lab/Boykin Spaniel mix and is now 10 months old.    She has been on Itraconzole for 3 months and will be for another 3 months.  So far she is doing wonderful, but I still get nervous.     Just know that you & your family are in our thoughts.
