Hi all,
Our cat, Lola, (actually she's much more like a little dog in personality-she comes when called, is very social, will walk on a leash, loves people and travelling, etc.) was diagnosed with histo a few weeks ago. She has anemia & lung, spleen & bone involvement in her one back leg. (She got amputated due to cancer last fall, but she's tough & still hops all over the place visiting the neighbors & their dogs.) Having her sole back leg not work is awful since she can barely get around on bad days. Sad

After a few days on itraconazole, her leg got worse for a bit. Then a few days later it improved. Now, two weeks later, her leg is suddenly worse again.  After treatment has begun, do fungal bone symptoms abate and then sometimes worsen and then go up and down over many weeks-or is this a really bad sign?

Thanks for all the support here. They would have never diagnosed her if I hadn't read about blasto/histo symptoms online.  You guys are amazing about spreading knowledge.

MY MARGIE

Marge was limping on and off for weeks. The fungus was still in there so I am assuming why there is still a limp. Has your vet treated any histo cases before? It may be beneficial for them to check with a specialist if they have never dealt with one. I am sorry for your poor Lola. She sounds like a trooper! How has she been otherwise? Eating at all on her own? I hope your baby pulls through this and quick.
