Up Date. Ruger is back up on his feet and back playing fetch in the snow drifts. The vet can't believe he is even alive. Said he never seen a dog that far gone ever come back. Tell you the truth we thought he was gone too. Lost one eye. But don't seem to slow him down none. Other than running into more things in the house, with two eyes he did that. Still on full dose of pills, so the fear and watching for the relapse hasn't started yet.

Now we have to thank the people that sent there extra pills to us. We were scraping bottom trying to get the meds for him. Without those people our best friend would be gone. The part we hate is that they lost there best friends. So we remind him daily that he is alive because of those gone. Thanks

Way to go Ruger!

Here is a caution.  Did you Mira Vista test him to make sure he was done with blasto?  My Mika has been running around like a normal, active dog for months and had a low Mira Vista so we kept her on the meds for almost two more months, took her off meds and a month later, did the Mira Vista test.  Her numbers showed she had blasto, even worse than before.  So we're facing another at least six months.  My point is, we could not have told she still had (or relapsed with) blasto by her behavior.  She, too, lost an eye meaning the blasto is in the eye and it is VERY hard to get it out of there.  (She, too, gets along just fine one-eyed though she'll knock into things a bit more, too.)

Good luck with Ruger.  Please get him checked with the Mira Vista test.  You've come too far to risk it flaring up again.
