does he have lesions in his mouth maybe??
wilson had one on his tonque /lost that part but it was at the tip
a few others also had lesons in the mouth on here
that could be part of the reason also for not eating

keep up the wonderful job you are doing!

Scott,

It sounds as though you guys are doing a great job! When you are feeding the itra are you giving it with a source of fat? I know that the itra needs to be given with fat otherwise it wont work properly. Marge had a really hard time handling the itra and we switched her to fluconazole and her appetite came back almost immediately. My Margie lost over 20 lbs when she was sick and it was so hard just touching her because all you felt was bones. It is great to hear that he isnt fighting you with the turkey baster. It is such a hard battle but it seems as though you are prepared for the long haul. Have you given him anything to help with the fever? We gave Marge deramaxx for a short period of time and it really helped her with the pain and fever. I was taking her temp a few times a day and recording it so I can check on her improvement. My journal also had everything written down that she would eat so I could see if she was getting better. You guys will be in my thoughts and prayers. Keep up the good work.

Eva

p.s. Have you had Gunners urine sent out to MiraVista to give a definite diagnosis? They also give you a # that symbolizes how much of the disease is in the dog. Very good test to do for monitoring.

Our thoughts our with Gunner...

On a side note, thanks Kean, I didn't know about MiraVista, but will definately mentioned that to the Vet.  Unfortunately the pattern on the recent x-ray points more towards lung cancer.
