gunner,

"Also, regarding the discrepancy discovered in the study that found the generics to be out of step with the standard.  Since that has been uncovered, you can bet that the companies have straightened up their act.  The FDA is very strict on these things once they are found out.  "

What study is that?  Thanks!

I told you how many times:
I am not qualified to detail these things for anyone else; I am not a professional.

I gave you enough search parameters in the last post to keep you busy researching for weeks.
It's enough for me that I can look it up on my own and be satisfied with I find.
If you want to pick it apart, call a pharmaceutical engineer.
My dog is fine after being treated for 6 months - almost 2 years ago - on a generic compound.
I'm satisfied.
When I said "Enough", that's what I meant.

My doctor feels that the generic beaded form of sporanox is fine as long as people take a blood test to make sure it’s at the recommended level.  Itraconazole is one of the worst drugs for bioavailability that’s why it’s good that new ones that are more bioavailable are coming out.  Some of the drugs that are available are dependent on insurance company’s where if generic is available that is what you have to use.

I believe SUBA-itraconazole will be the next generic form of itraconazole once approved in the States.  Will be great when it comes out, 100% bioavailable vs 55% for Sporanox, both from the same drug!  Costs to consumers should come way down, I hope.
