They don't want to go & we don't want them to leave.  I feel your pain & you are in my prayers.  I'm sure Bodi found her right away & they will play together until we can see them again.  Thank you for the fight you to put up & for sharing.  It truely gave me more time with my boy.  Best Wishes.

I cried as I read your post.   It had to be just the hardest thing in the world to watch Gunner be afraid, to be dying, and I bet you felt so powerless.  But you weren't powerless; you were there to make it easier on him even if it was so much harder on you.  I so admire your strength, Joyce.  Gunner was lucky to have such a good family.  I feel so badly for you and your family.  I feel so lucky that my knuckleheads are sitting by my feet right now as the tears fall down my cheeks.  The pictures of Gunner are darling.  Where are her littermates that were on your doorstep?  Why were they on your doorstep at 5 days old?

Thank you again and again for your sweet thoughts.  Though I was expecting Gunner's passing, it still was a most dreadful blow and has left me completely gutted.  It is a bit difficult to fully participate on the forum just now, but like all things, I expect it will get better with time.

Gunner, her mother and brothers landed on my door step because they belonged to a busy actor who didn't have time at the moment to look after them himself.  The woman hired to look after them (supposedly a trained vet assistant) lost 2 of the puppies in 4 days so he brought them to me.  They were in a slimy crate, all of them had mange, worms and ringworm.  I was only supposed to look after them for a couple of weeks but it ended up being 3 1/2 months.  As a thank you for taking care of his little family, Barry gave me Gunner.  More fun than a barrell full of monkeys is a room full of bulldog puppies!

The dark puppy now lives in France with some actor there.  Don't remember who.  And the brown and white one lives with a well known doctor in Texas.

Again, thank you for the poems, the messages and notes.  They mean so very much.
