My experience with the suggestion of the MiraVista test was the same.  My vet was very agreeable about reading all the data first and felt that the labs of course wanted people to pay for the tests but that they sent out the press releases in the hopes that a learning institute might pick it up and continue the study.  Make sense?  Not sure I have explained it correctly but that was the general message.  She didn't just buy right in to it and I do respect her a lot.  She did however say that that it was a new test and she was checking it out as thoroughly as she could which is good.

When Drs. Wheat and Legendre say that the sensitivity of the antigen detection in urine is 94%  and serum 87%, I ask: what are they waiting for, a certain shade of green? 
But I also jump into things, am terribly impatient, and am not a vet.

Oh poor Gunner. Marge also gets very nervous going to the vet so they have been so great and accomadate her now and bring the staff into the room to do any tests and we are allowed to help her onto the xray. She used to come home and be so sick for days when we had to take her in back. Thats great to hear that things are stabalized. That Sav a Calf has worked wonders. I am totally with Jen on this... why wait if you are requesting it? They arent paying for it you are. Definitely keep us posted.
