You poor thing.  I am sorry for what you are going through.  I will keep you and your son in my prayers.  My dog had blasto so I am not familiar with how differently humans react and especially a baby. Does your Dr. have experience with treating blasto? And do you feel comfortable with him (her)? There have been a couple of people on here that have posted lately and by their posts seem to me like they would be more than happy to help you in any way.  I would personal message Connie and blastowarrior and see if you could talk to them and ask questions and have them give you advice.  I wish you the best of luck.  Read everything you can so that you are knowledgeable and don't be afraid to ask any question you have.  There are no stupid questions.  You want answers I am sure.
Good Luck and hang in there.

Thank you for replying. My son does have a good team treating him and he is recovering slowly now. I found a Facebook group on this website and they are a big help. My son is no longer on this high frequency ventilator that was full support for him, he had been sedated and paralyzed for 13 days but is now awake and moving around. His new ventilator is minimal support now so he is on the right track :) he is a tough big 4 month old boy!

My daughter Kayla was 16 when she got it. They called it pediatric but I thought she seemed more adult to me. not sure how bad your kid has it but it is really a scary thing. Is it on the skin or in the lungs. My daughters was in the lungs and pretty bad. She was in the hospital for about a month. She was on so many diffrent meds. when she finally got out of the hospital it took about a year for her to get back to as normal as we can get. let me know where you guys are in treatment so I can tell you more. He is off the ventilator now for almost 2 weeks now. He had been on the ventilator for 42 days. He is also on sporanox and they are weaning him off the sedation and narcotics think he has only one more sedation to wean off of. He needs to learn to feed by mouth he has forgotten how to suck. If he is unable to learn he will need a more permanent tube feed. He caught a cold last week so that was a small set back hopefully he can start to see the therapist this week to start teaching him to eat again. He is slowly gaining his strength back :)
