Oh...poor Ebby.  Really what your experiencing seems to be pretty typical.   In the beginning, I think the meds make them feel a little yucky.  I used buttermilk to help Lolas tummy.  The first few weeks are so hard.  I can tell you that a lot of us have had success getting the pills down with margerine.  The like the taste and it slides down the throat.  Another popular treat (which Lola lived on for weeks) is rotissarie chicken.  I don't know why but a lot of the dogs on the site have turned the corner with it.  Dax is right, dogs can get very, very thin.  At one point I had to resort to watered down food and a turkey bastor.  Fortunately, they DO get past this.  I overcompensated and know Lola is a 62lb Bassett Hound. Her belly almost brushed the floor when she walks.  Stay strong and give Ebby kisses from us.

Well, thanks a lot, I just came home from a 12 hour shift and Ebby did not eat anything today ;o( not even for my husband Volker so I stuffed the pill in the back of her thraot to get it down then I offered her a hotdog...nope left it where it was for the other dogs, BUT my Husband told me that she played a little bit with puppy today for the first time. She bit him back and licked him and he is a rough one, she tried to ingnore him the last 2 weeks because he was always jumping on her. I tried to protect her and teach him some manors, but you are not always faster a 100% ;o) And Ebby used to be the most playfull dog I ever met. WEhen I found her on th highway last halloween and brougth her to the vet a couple of days later they found out she was already pregnant in the fifth week and she was just an amazing mom.

If Ebby is still not eating anything, she's obviously going to be getting weaker and weaker from simple malnutrition. When Logan absolutely refused to eat and started getting weak, I started force feeding him! You can see if your vet sells canned A/D, its made by Science Diet, and has lots of calories. Also see if they will give you a large gauge syringe (no needle of course). You can mix the A/D with a little water (or Pedialyte!) and use the syringe to squirt it down her throat. I know it doesnt sound very pleasant, and maybe you're not comfortable with having to do that, but just wanted you to have the option! I had to do this with Logan for quite awhile, but it helped him get some strength back. I dont know how big Ebby is, but Logan is 100 lbs. and I was trying to get at least 6 cans of the A/D in him per day! But just a forewarning, the A/D can be pretty expensive!

Thanks alot, I just got food in her, I made chicken and she got a good portion of it and when I left the dish out for her she even started to eat her dryfood which is very high in Protein and fat. her eyes look better, they dont pop out as much as they did and she is running a little more around, so I hope that it will get better now. I dont know where to go or what to do, once she had the meds for a while as I don't have a vet, that I really trust, so what would be the next step with her?

Glad Ebby got some nourishment in her! If you need advice on the phone our vets here in the area are amazing. There is so much blasto here. Google Kenora, Ontario vet. They need to be on the meds for a long time, even when you think they are fine. That blast can sneak back in.

Just know that what your going through is typical.  I think the meds upset the tummy.  Or maybe its dead fungi in the tummies making them not feel so hot.  Ebby will get past this point.  You just have to hold tight and do whatever you have to do.  Lola never completely lost hers, just got reluctant.  Wouldn't touch dog food.  She's at that point again.  But I'm gonna have her liver checked next week but my vet said she looks really good.  So I'm just hoping LOTS of Blasto is being killed off.  Best wishes, keep up informed and give Ebby a big kiss.

I just came back from the new vet with the little one, for shots. And gave them a headstart for when I am coming with Ebby. She finally ate today a lot more than the last weeks, a dish of Friskies Dryfood with her Orijen dogfood mixed, I am so happy ;o)  And I even saw her trying to play with the pup and biting him back ;o)When I was out with her alone she was way happier than the last weeks and running a little around.

Yeah, Ebby came out with us to the horses and had a little fun, I hope so, and we just went for a walk. She ate four big hands full of dry cat food and hotdogs ;o) and my sis told me that she sent over a two weeks supply of itra which she got for free, at least a little bit and my grandma is trying the same with her doctor today. I am feeling bad, with saving the money this way but it is so friggin expensive ;o(
