treatments being used for lesions - need some options
« on: November 12, 2007, 12:37:57 PM »

Wilson3 has mentioned using a clay.  Can I get more information about this please, and if anyone else had success please let me know.
Also, was anyone else prescribed antibiotics to cure the lesions?  Doesn't the sporonox on its own do this by killing the fungus?

DB's lesions were waaaay different than Wilson's.  They were black and kinda slimy/greasy, and the hair all fell out;  no blood or "meat" showing, whereas Wilson...well, that was different.
Antibiotics aren't effective against fungi, but you can buy antifungal creams OTC, or the vet can prescribe them.  We used a prescription antifungal cream and the OTC. They both worked, and I think the Itra helps as well.

wilson had lesions like in the pictures on the one site here some where small and some where like abscess that did drain 2 where really bad the rest where not he was also put on antiboitics but the itra also was helping the 2 that where really bad i used pascalite clay cleared his foot and wriste right up he would have lost his foot, in a weeks time his foot was better the vet was shocked and could not beleave what he had seen it came in a powder and i made it into a thick paste and wraped a warm wet rag on it let it sit for about an hr did 2 or 3 x's aday the clay pulls allthe bad stuff out i wish my computer was working right i could send u pictures i swear by it and so does wilson wilson went from only showing one or two signs of not feeling himself to having 10 of the signs of blasto
the one on his foot that ws sooo bad was the first on the leg that he first showed signs (not using then a bump) the other real bad one was on the leg he got his IV in i dont know if this had anything to do with it but i feel it did
the vet also gave me nolvasan scrub to use on them butit did nothing in my desperate to savehis foot i searched for something and thank goodness for a friend that told me about the clay and gave me some to use after the first use what a BIG difference the licking stopped so i can only assume that it releaved the pain and itchynes
the web site is www.pascalite.com ( click on links left hand side to get canada site)
it can be used for anyting i brush my teath with it now it is a wonderful miracle of nature
birds eat it in the wild the clay
when the blasto finally took hold of wilsons body really good new signs showed up everyday until treatment started the small lesions went away on there own
blasto was not seen here where we live so it was not enven thought of but with allthe contrution and climate change it is here now more seen i also know if i would have only demand wilson normal vet sooner he might not have gotten so bad
as soon as i told him that he has been where other dogs have gotten blasto he new that it had to be it in a weeks time he went down very fast we started treatment before we had a paoitive test resulton him
clay really worked i know always have some in the house it workson everything even when one gets a hot spot
how bad are yours.
i ll see if i can find a picture on line of what wilsons looked like
good luck

I was asking for a friend who is in the early crisis stage and I knew that you had a lot of experience so I cut and paste your reply into an e-mail for him in case he doesn't have time to read through a lot of these posts.  Thanks for the info and thankfully neither Will nor Roxy had any lesions.
