Yes, I got the puppy.  I let my son name her - Katie (because it rhymes with Sadie).  I've tried to get him to change the name, but he won't budge.  So I call her Kate, Kathleen, Katherine.... I have a picture of her on the Bereavement side of this board - "when to get a new dog".  I'm not attached to her yet.  With Sadie it was almost instant.  But this one just isn't happening.....yet.  She's a good pup, but that's just it - she's a puppy!  I'm cleaning up poop and pee every day.  But it's getting better.

Awe...that's such good news.  What a lucky little pup.  Katie is a cute name.  The puppy thing will pass all to soon.  I hope you can let yourself connect with the baby.  I'm sure Sadie would want that.
