Moose today
« on: November 11, 2007, 05:55:14 PM »

Hi all - wow I can't say enough about your kindness- thanks and God Bless.  I am encouraged today.  Moose is not any worse - we are on day 6 of Sporanox.  He will eat ham if hand fed but at least that is something - he is not dehydrated.  He still has fevers off and on but the lameness is gone.  He has a runny nose but no coughing.  His left eye is really bad, though.  It is cloudy and swollen.  I am taking him in tomorrow for the vet to look at it. I am afraid he will not regain sight there.  He sleeps well and actually chased our cat across the porch today!  So what do you all think?  Any thoughts on the eye?  He has no more cysts I can feel - just the one on the hind leg her was carrying and it feels smaller - no draining sores. Will keep you all up-to-date.  I have not heard many optomistic thoughts from the vets I have visited with - that is discouraging!   Do you think there are so many sad endings because it is misdiagnosed and too far gone once treatment is started?  I am really hoping we caught it early enough - 5 days after first symptoms started????  Time will tell..... your prayers and positive thoughts are working....
