Quincy Update
« on: December 05, 2010, 08:09:21 PM »

Quincy is continuing to return to his own ways of eating and playing but. . . the lymph node seems to still be surpressing his trachea. We really are praying that although it doesn't seem like it, its size is slowly decreasing. I don't want to sound ungrateful for the fact that he's eating and playing like he should be, but its just hard to hear him fight to breath when he goes outside to use the restroom for a few minutes and just random moments where he begins to hack untill he gags. Cancer keeps sitting in the back of our minds, but we are hoping that this sporax treatment WILL make his lymph node smaller by this Thursday's appointment because then it will show that the blasto test that was  barely postive before was correct. So any prayer would be appreciated. Thank you all for your messages, prayers, kind words, and postive thoughts. You all are such kind people and I'm blessed to be able to have found you all on this website!

Glad Quincy is on the up and up.  If it were cancer, I'm sure he'd be going downhill.  Steroids are the only thing that brought Sadie some appetite and energy after she got sick.  And the benefits of steriods were short lived anyways.  So I think Quincy has turned a corner.  Hopefully this is the case.  Please keep us updated on your vet visit.

Quincy can do it!  Like I mentioned in our messages, Quincy's disease path was much different than that of my Jack Russell.  I'll send positive thoughts your way.

Part of the breathing may just be the medicine doing it's job on top of the swelling.  It's heartbreaking to hear that he's still fighting for breath, but I'm so glad to hear his appetite is up and that's he's playing and moving!!  I think that's a very, very good sign.  We're having issues with swelling in Izzy's leg - it has no place to drain and seems to be getting bigger and bigger.  Keep attacking this nasty fungus with the medicine and we'll be thinking of you guys!!  Let us know how he's doing..

Oh, Callie, I'm sorry to hear Quincy isn't having a good day.  Do you have some ensure or pedialyte around?

Don't give up.  I think the #1 side effect of the antifungals is loss of appetite.  So it can be confusing with the "loss of appetite due to illness".  Feel better Quincy.

So sorry that Quincy took a step backwards.  Hoping he starts eating again, gets his tail up and his smile back.

I swear, I think the roller coaster ride is the worst.  Up and down, Up and down.  It's so very hard.  Prayers to you and your little man Quincy.
