Bennie is into animal crackers!!! Never knew that! I saw some in the check out line, and got a couple of boxes, maybe to throw in a Christmas care package ??? Well, they're gone. Bennie and Heather and I shared them, but guess who got most. His appetite is back in spades, and ... well Bennie looks pretty good, most of the time.. Sometimes he scares me a little into thinking the blasto is hiding in his CNS, his teeth were chattering away and he was shivering hard and acting like someone with a hell of a fever yesterday, and the spine going up and down.... an exaggeration of something he always did..... and then it stopped and he just went on.. not like a seizure. He wasn't spaced out...... still it's unnerving, yet it feels like it isn't the Blasto, but maybe how the Itra affects him??? It's a strong drug, for sure.... Anyway, he has really come a long way in a month. The Itra being shipped from UK must be delayed by the terrible storm there. Yesterday nothing was moving......

It's cold here and snow has been on the ground since early in November........ Take that, Blasto spores!

Hugs to all our friends,
Barb, Bennie, and Heathergrace

I admire your spunkiness and your ability to care for your dog.  Animal crackers are cheap and would make great dog treats.  Our little darling curls his nose up at anything that's a cookie except homemade peanut butter cookies.  The phenobarbitol will make him gain weight so we're all on food watch with him.  The other dog, Frodo is pretty pudgy but that's starting to come down a bit.  If you give one dog a treat , you have to give the other dog a treat.  I'm still mixing up meatballs every week, Cosmo started spitting out his pills from the dark meat turkey.
When Cosmo had those seizures Thanksgiving I was sure we would not have our pup anymore.  I was sure that the blasto went into his brain even though he's been medicated for 3 months.  I don't know if I ever will look at a symptom that may crop up and not think that it's blasto showing up in some new horrid way.
Didn't mean to highjack this thread.  I'm so glad for Bennie.  I cheered when he attacked the garbage but mourned the fact that you blamed yourself.  You are a good owner to your animals.
