Also, if the butter gives sadie any issue with diarrhea or gas, you can just throw it in without much of anything at all - esp if you have a cast iron skillet. It has a strong smell and taste, so our girl likes it just fine plain.
And no, the liver won't 'cure' the anemia. Can't do that until we figure out what's going on. But it will supplement her iron production and keep her from getting sicker. The longer she goes w/low iron, the more likely she will start producing immature red blood cells, which means less oxygen, which means heart and lung problems.
The pet tabs are available at any pet store or online, and 60 pills typically run me about $30. We do one a day. They're tasty chewable tabs with a lot of vitamins and minerals and our dogs love them.
